# commit

The function `hyperspace_client.commit(collection_name)` is used for committing a collection that includes vectors (type dense\_vector). Commit is required before using Vector Search or Hybrid Search, and in order to allow safe data restore.

**Input-**

* <mark style="color:purple;">collection\_name</mark> – Specifies the Collection in which to commit.

**Example**

You can specify the score function file is be used for the Classic Search, as follows –
